Gyalsung MIS
The Gyalsung program, initiated by His Majesty, is designed to empower all Bhutanese youth to actively participate in the process of nation-building. This initiative aims to strengthen the security, peace, unity, harmony, and sovereignty of Bhutan. By engaging various sections of society—government organizations, autonomous agencies, the armed forces, educational institutions, parents, teachers, and individuals—Gyalsung provides a collaborative platform to shape the youth into responsible citizens of Bhutan.
To effectively manage all information related to the Gyalsung program, the Gyalsung Management Information System (MIS) was launched on October This system streamlines the processes involved in becoming a Gyalsung participant.
The key processes are as follows:
1. Sign Up: Youth must first sign up on the Gyalsung MIS platform to begin their journey. This initial step involves creating an account, which allows them to access further stages of the application process.
2. There are two types of registration, depending on the age of the participant:
2.1. National Service Registration: For those aged 18 and above. These participants will apply for national service, which includes various training and service components designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for nation-building.
2.2. Early-Enlistment: For participants below 18, they will apply for early enlistment. During this process, they must obtain parental consent to proceed with their registration.
3. Deferment: If a participant is unable to take part in the program during the current year, they can request a deferment. This process allows them to defer their participation to the following year. However, they must provide a genuine reason for the deferment, supported by relevant documentation or attachments.
4. Exemption: Certain individuals may qualify for exemption from the Gyalsung program. This includes monks, nuns, and those with significant health issues. Participants seeking exemption must submit an application outlining their specific circumstances, accompanied by supporting evidence.
5. Medical: All registered participants are required to undergo a medical examination. To facilitate this, users can book an appointment through the medical booking page on the Gyalsung MIS platform. Once an appointment is booked, the information is forwarded to the GEMS (Gyalsung Enlistment Medical Screen) app. The GEMS app manages the medical screening process, ensuring that all participants meet the necessary health standards for the program.
